Yam Toast | Sweet + Savoury Vegan Brunch

Here's a simple, sweet and savoury idea for brunch, breakfast or really, any meal throughout the day! Since the beginning of the year, I'd altered my diet to consuming only whole foods, and foods in which were comprised of only ingredients I know. So to satisfy my toast cravings, Yam toast as a substitute for regular bread ticks all the boxes for me!

  • 2 Tbsp Almond Butter
  • 2 Soaked Dried Figs
  • 1 Tsp Sun Flower Seeds

  • 1/2 Avocado
  • 1 tsp Hemp Seeds
  • A pinch of Pink Himalayan Sea Salt

  1. Cut 1 Large Yam into even slices (around 2cm thick).
  2. Place in the oven at 220ºC for 30 minutes or place on a grill for 10 minutes on each side on a medium-high heat.
  3. Top off the yam slices with the ingredients above or any desired toppings. Then voila!
